I’m right where I’ve always been

Backed into this corner with no way out

I look up and feel dizzy

I look down and I know that’s the only direction I’m goin’

Look left and see her face

Look right and see the edge

What is left to do?

What is there to accomplish?

The agony that is life

I’m dripping with despair

Drenched in damnation

And being shot at with uselessness

Now I remember my winter

My horrid winter

Some say never give in

Some say never say never

Words mean nothing

I can’t say what you mean to me

I feel like I’m slowly drifting off into space

You wanna pull me back

But there’s no line

I’m sandwiched between four walls

That are slowly, but surely, closing in on me

ALL IS NOT LOST

As she sits there shining in the summer sun
Staring at the sky
Thinking of the way it should be
She wishes on a shooting star
Wishes that things will get better

But as the story always goes

People like her don’t get what they should

And life isn’t too great

But when she can, she makes the best of what she’s got

As days go by she loses more & more hope

Gazing across the street, staring at the happy people

She begins to weep & put her head in her hands

That is the only way she knows how to cope

But all hope is not lost

The future will bring hope & happiness

And the sun will shine once again

And even brighter

Why oh why butterfly

Did you fly away when I opened the jar?

Because now I’m missing you

Missing you like no other

And in the mornings, I think of you

And in the evenings, I drink for two

Why oh why did you fly away...

When I opened the jar?

I drove across town and back again looking for you

Searching high and low

But the skies were cloudy so I couldn’t find you

If this is how it must be then I’m sorry

Because I thought we had it all

Why oh why butterfly...

Because now all I see, all I do, all I am

Is for you

Because right before I close my eyes at night

All I see is you
